WORK PLAN
Development of the Design Tool
In order to produce effective work packages (WP's) the structure of the work plan resembles the functional design of the main result of the EDECAD-project: the predictive spray drying and agglomeration model (Design Tool).

Important steps in the formation of agglomerated powders are atomisation, the mixing of spray and gas (collision of droplets, drying) and agglomeration of sticky particles. Measurements and model calculations will be carried out to quantify these steps and will contribute to the development of the Design Tool. Consequently, the degree of agglomeration can be predicted using the Design Tool as a function of process parameters.

Industrial validation
The Design Tool will be validated on pilot-plant scale and industrial scale. For an interpretation of the degree of agglomeration, as predicted by the Design Tool, detailed product quality analyses will be carried out using the powders produced during validation.
